  • Schools on the map
The Scholen op de kaart website contains all kinds of data on secondary schools in the Netherlands. This data comes from DUO and the Education Inspectorate. Schools can add their own information and explain their data. It is also possible to compare schools. Read more about e.g. our results and the satisfaction of parents and students. Here you will also find that a large number of pupils in our third year of study are studying at a higher level than their primary school recommendation indicated.
  • Amstelland and Meerlanden partnership
This is the website of the partnership of secondary schools in Amstelland and Meerlanden, including Amstelveen, Aalsmeer, Uithoorn and De Ronde Venen. The partnership arranges pupil care that falls outside of school and is responsible for the core procedures for intake, transfer and outflow to and from secondary education in the region.
  • Info student travel product
MBO students can apply for the student travel product to travel freely or at a discount on trains, trams, buses and metros throughout the Netherlands. Via this link to Duo’s website you can find all the information and apply for the student travel product.
  • The Study Centre
Founded in 2010, Het Studielokaal works with more than 20 partner schools in secondary education. Het Studielokaal offers small-scale, personalised and customised education, including exam training by first-grade qualified teachers. With a focus on study skills and self-direction, Het Studielokaal strives to provide affordable services by keeping costs low. Important is their approach to opportunity inequality. Every year they provide places for homework help to pupils free of charge, minimising financial constraints.
  • Amstel & Meer support centre

As a parent, you can contact Steunpunt Amstel & Meer if you have questions about appropriate education. The support centre is there for pupils and parents in the municipalities of Aalsmeer, Amstelveen, Haarlemmermeer, Ouder-Amstel and Uithoorn.

Are you looking for information about Futuris? Chances are you’ll find it in the school guide. From the curriculum to school rules and all kinds of practical matters: you can read about it in the school guide.

A typical school day at Futuris starts with a mentor class or regular subject lessons. Classes usually last 50 minutes and there are several breaks throughout the day. Besides the regular subjects such as Dutch, English and maths, you also take practical classes depending on your choice of profile, such as sports, cooking or technology. The day usually ends around 15:30.

In secondary school, you deal with several subject teachers for each subject, instead of one teacher. You have a fixed timetable with several subjects per day and learn to plan and deal with homework. In addition, secondary education emphasises independence and hands-on learning.

If you do not understand a lesson well or need help, you can always contact your teacher or mentor. Futuris also offers additional support through student coaches, remedial teachers and homework help.

Futuris offers several learning pathways, including vmbo-basis, vmbo-kader, vmbo-tl (mavo), and mavo/havo. In addition, we have five profile classes: Sport, Expression, Technology, Cooking and Mavo/Havo, in which pupils take weekly classes that match their interests and talents.

Futuris ensures a safe learning environment by actively addressing bullying behaviour and appointing a confidential advisor to whom pupils can turn. There is a bullying protocol and the mentoring team plays an important role in identifying and resolving conflicts.
